I noticed that my liliums are budding right
now and that they are now in need of a dose of iron chelates mixed with kelp extract to
turn their slightly yellow buds, bright green and to ward off the odd hot day before they
flower next month.

The warm weather always brings on the bugs.
Right now it seems whitefly are all the go. Tiny clouds of them rise when you disturb
carrot leaves or any pumpkins or melon leaves and even stinging nettles |

The fruit on our fruit trees is swelling
rapidly and some needs support pretty soon or branches will break. Apricots, Nectarines
and Peaches are particularly laden this year. Of course you can thin the crop, but
its hard to bring yourself to do this sometimes and on large trees not very
practical either!

One of the gardeners cruelest
afflictions in this area has to be seasonal hayfever and its the wind pollinating
plants that are the biggest villains: Cupressus, Pines, including Callitris the
"Native Pine", Silver Birch, Ash, Plane, Elm, Privet, most Wattles, dryland
Eucalypts, Melaleucas, Callistemon, Sheoaks and of course "Salvation Jane".
