With Christmas looming and warm weather now
the norm, it's a great time to fertilizer your lawns. Even a scruffy old Kikuyu will
respond in a week and look great for festive slumming, when fertilized this week. Water
first feed, then rewater. Lots of folk like using
organic lawn feed, but just a warning, if you have large trees over or in your lawn, in
other words they get fed when your lawn does, use a Complete 'D' or Superphosphate
occasionally, so they get a feed too.
Organic lawn fertilizers, will be high in nitrogen, but low
in or have no phosphates at all. The fine leaf lawns won't mind and you'll kill the moss
and your burr clovers at the same time.
If you use a mulcher mower, try trimming your edges first
and around any trees, then all gets picked up when you cut/mulch. |
