Feb 1st

 

This is ‘be kind to your street tree week’ and you are expected to water your fledgling street tree if you have one. Soil moisture stress is at its highest this week, so even a few litres would be most welcome.

 

 

Feb 8th

 

Your "Tiger Lilies" have probably finished flowering and the black bulbets on the stems are starting to swell, so if you brush those off, your underground bulbs will swell bigger for next year, creating larger blooms.



Feb 15th

You can summer trim your roses this week and have them back flowering in full bloom in just eight weeks, that’s a week after Easter. Now a trim, means a removal of up to one third of the canopy and given the height of some local bushes, that’s quite a bit of foliage.
