The
dominant orchids expected at the show will be cymbidiums,
closely followed by Australian natives, mainly dendrobiums;
but pterostyllis and sarcochilus will be present
as well in the Australian Native group.
Other
types of orchids we expect to be exhibited are paphiopedilum,
phalaenopsis, the laeliinae alliance, the oncidiinae
alliance and zygopetalum.
Considering
the traumatic summer the plants have gone through
it was surprising to see the number and quality
of the plants shown recently at our Winter Show.
This would indicate that we can expect both good
numbers and plants of excellent quality at the Spring
Show, although this current cold weather may have
some impact.
Once
again we will have our trading table where the public
can purchase plants and products to improve their
ability to get them to flower in following seasons.
There
will always be members of the Club on hand to answer
any of those queries that the public would like
to ask.
